The James Caan Interview – During this official press conference interview session at the USA Film Festival, members of the press meet with actor James Caan and producers-directors Rick Rosenberg and Robert Christianson. Caan expresses his personal views on improvization in acting (“I believe in discipline”), explains why actors are basicly like children (“They have childlike behavior with childlike imagination”) and talks about what it was like directing himself in a movie (“If it feels right, then it is right”). He also gives his views about playing different roles (“If it was left up to the people who control my career, I’d be playing ol’ Sonny from ‘The Godfather’ for the rest of my life”) and talks about films as a business (“You have to make money”). He also speaks up in behalf of the witness protection program portrayed in the film “Hide in Plain Sight” and expresses his opinion of the people who run the annual Academy Awards festivities in Hollywood (“They’re all bananas”).
